MEL

A few weeks back I hung out with Mel (@ Clyne) on the last day of the school holidays to shoot some photos for my photography internal for school. I had just gotten back from Wellington at 12, so everything was really candid and unplanned. This is some of what happened when we frantically ran around to catch the last of the afternoon sun. Unfortunately I don't think I can hand any of this in because I didn't develop these myself (the ones that I did aren't as good I don't think...) Anyway, North Head is awesome and spooky and a ridiculously cool place to hang out.

And hopefully once everything is handed in, then I'll be upload some of the b/w photos that I've developed and printed myself from this shoot.

I got some film back a few days ago and these are some snaps from March-April. These are from adventures with friends and meeting new people. Mostly it's just from roaming around and doing nothing much, but enjoying it. Note to self: I really need/want  to go on a road trip.

P.s There will be more photos to come really soon!

I was sitting behind Hannah on the Log Flume at New Zealand's Only Theme Park at dusk, and the sky was so pretty and orange and pink, except you can't really tell with this photo. I think we all out rollercoastered ourselves to the point of nausea after the night. The drive back home was so nice. I had the worst headachy tiredness, but we were just driving and all the lights were so nice and flickering, and John Mayer made everything all peaceful (I usually dislike him but).

I met someone awesome called Georgia through model mayhem and we took some snaps together one weirdly cloudy day in Devonport - these are the photos I took on film. We walked around and explored Devonport and spent 10 minutes in a shop spraying different coloured hairsprays and looking at buttons.

Chantelle had to do her photography assignment so Jas picked us up and we drove around and listened to music loudly in the car. Then we left Bastion Point, where we were originally and instead, walked around K Road, ate sushi and accomplished next to nothing.

The crowd packing in for Wellington Fashion Week. During the days I pretty much wandered around the city and walked everywhere because everything was so pretty! Also they have the best bagels - I literally walked 1km to find a bagel shop that I swore was there, but I couldn't find it again! Te Papa also had the nicest exhibitions and their public transport > Auckland. +++ Everyone is so much nicer!

When I came back from Wellington, I hung out with Harri and Jo and we walked around and looked at stuff such as clothes etc. The week before, we had a picnic and ended up offering our food to a random person on the bus who gave us a bit of his life story in exchange.

Hannah and I walked to Sophie's house to hang and we terrorised her rabbit - it growls if you stroke it's face with a leaf and literally jumps at you. This was when we were walking back to Hannah's house (it's great when everyone lives 10 minutes away) and the sun was setting and you could tell winter is coming cry cry bye bye summer.

Fun Times at Wellington Fashion Week

I had the amazing opportunity to shoot at Wellington Fashion Week last week for Frank&Shirley (I can't believe how time has passed so fast!) and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It was pretty much the first time that I'd travelled anywhere by myself, but everything was exciting, if not a little daunting. However, I met some of the most talented people ever and everyone was so nice; much nicer than people in Auckland. Here are some backstage snaps from my time there and you can find collection pictures/write up at frankshirley.blogspot.com.

Hazy Dreams

The photos I've taken of late haven't been very good, so I've resulted to flicking through old albums from last year. And I found these, and edited them a bit, to make them seem more like hazy days, creepy ghost like porcelain dolls.

Actually that's a lie. The last picture was taken yesterday.

Dreamscapes with Colour

This is the result of boredom, art lessons flipping through hefty books and Chanty's weird music playlists that she's given me. Oh, and also having nothing to do on a Friday night. It's kind of like a lava lamp exploded over these photos.

Present for R: Poetry Anthology

This is an anthology of my friend's favourite poems for her birthday. It is made with old calendar pages and comic store newspapers and photos by Duane Michals, Diane Arbus and Emmett Gowin because I had nothing better to do at school.

P.s The light was pretty this morning.

The cover is made from a 1976 National Geographic image, flipped and reversed.
